MPs meet to discuss ongoing threat to NHS services
8 March 2007

West Sussex MPs and senior councillors today met in the House of Commons to discuss the ongoing threat to NHS services from the 'Fit for the Future' work

MPs Nicholas Soames, Nick Herbert, Andrew Tyrie, Nicholas Gibb and Frances Maude, and the Leader and Deputy Leader of West Sussex County Council were at the meeting.

A robust programme of work has been agreed including further extensive investigations into the question of fair funding, not only for the health service but also for the wider infrastructure that a growing and expanding community must have if it is to be able to achieve better quality of life standards.

Mid Sussex MP Nicholas Soames said after the meeting: "West Sussex MPs and West Sussex County Council are determined to make sure that local residents are not short changed by the proposals likely to emerge, and are pledged to secure a much better deal for all"
